Koran 3:96 — soera Ali 'Imran, vers 96

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيۡتٖ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكٗا وَهُدٗى لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Waarlijk, het eerste huis is voor de mensheid in Bakka aangewezen, vol zegeningen en een Leiding voor de wereldwezens.

Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds
