Koran 3:166 — soera Ali 'Imran, vers 166

وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

En wat jullie overkwam op de dag toen de twee legers elkaar troffen, kwam met de toestemming van Allah, zodat Hij de gelovigen moge testen.

And what struck you on the day the two armies met was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers
