Koran 2:19 — soera Al-Baqarah, vers 19

أَوۡ كَصَيِّبٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٞ وَرَعۡدٞ وَبَرۡقٞ يَجۡعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمۡ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطُۢ بِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

Of als de regenbui uit de hemel waarin duisternis, donder en bliksem is. Zij stoppen hun vingers in hun oren om de donderslag niet te horen, omdat zij bang voor de dood zijn. Maar Allah omsluit altijd de ongelovigen.

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers

• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Or like a downpour from the sky accompanied by darkness, thunder, and lightning. They thrust their fingers into their ears against the thunderclaps, for fear of death. But Allah encompasses the disbelievers.
