Koran 2:179 — soera Al-Baqarah, vers 179

وَلَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡقِصَاصِ حَيَوٰةٞ يَـٰٓأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

En in de vergelding is (het sparen van) een leven, o mensen van begrip, dat jullie godvrezend zullen worden.

And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life, O you [people] of understanding, that you may become righteous
