Koran 17:106 — soera Al-Isra, vers 106

وَقُرۡءَانٗا فَرَقۡنَٰهُ لِتَقۡرَأَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكۡثٖ وَنَزَّلۡنَٰهُ تَنزِيلٗا

En (het is) de Koran die Wij in delen hebben onderverdeeld zodat jullie het voor de mensen zullen reciteren . En Wij hebben het in verschillende periodes geopenbaard.

And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively

• Hilali & Khan: And (it is) a Qur’ân which We have divided (into parts), in order that you might recite it to men at intervals. And We have revealed it by stages (in 23 years).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): This is a Qur’an that We have revealed over stages so that you may recite it to people at a slower pace, and We have sent it down in a successive manner.
