Koran 16:93 — soera An-Nahl, vers 93

وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَلَٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَلَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

En als Allah het gewild had, had Hij jullie (allen) tot een volk kunnen maken maar Hij stuurt wie Hij wil op dwaling en Hij leidt wie Hij wil. Maar jullie zullen zeker ter verantwoording worden geroepen over de daden die jullie plachten te verrichten.

And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do

• Hilali & Khan: And had Allâh willed, He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. But you shall certainly be called to account for what you used to do.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): If Allah had willed, He would have made all of you a single community [of believers], but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.
