Coran 5:66 — sourate Al-Ma'idah, verset 66

وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ أَقَامُواْ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡهِم مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَأَكَلُواْ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَمِن تَحۡتِ أَرۡجُلِهِمۚ مِّنۡهُمۡ أُمَّةٞ مُّقۡتَصِدَةٞۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ سَآءَ مَا يَعۡمَلُونَ

S’ils se conformaient aux préceptes de la Torah, de l’Evangile et du Livre révélé par leur Seigneur, ils jouiraient de tous les bienfaits du ciel et de la terre. Certains parmi eux sont justes, mais nombre d’entre eux ont une attitude condamnable.

And if only they upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to them from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them - evil is that which they do

• Noor International Center (fr): Et s’ils avaient appliqué à la lettre la Torah, l’Évangile et ce qui leur a été révélé de leur Seigneur, ils auraient joui pleinement de tous (les biens) qui les entourent. Il y a certes parmi eux ceux qui sont droits, et d’autres qui, au contraire, agissent tellement mal !
• Hilali & Khan: And if only they had acted according to the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur’ân), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course (i.e. they act on the revelation and believe in Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as ‘Abdullâh bin Salâm رضي الله عنه), but many of them do evil deeds.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): If they had upheld the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been sent down to them from their Lord, they would have been given abundant provisions from above them and from below their feet. Among them are some who are on the right way, but most of them do evil deeds.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 5:66

Si les juifs et les chrétiens avaient mis en application les enseignements de leurs livres respectifs, et adopté ensuite ce qui leur a été révélé dans le Coran, ils auraient obtenu plus facilement la pluie et la fertilité qui favorisent l’accès à une subsistance abondante. Parmi les Gens du Livre, il y en a qui sont modérés et fidèles à la vérité mais beaucoup d’entre eux agissent mal parce qu’ils n’ont pas la foi.
