Coran 5:43 — sourate Al-Ma'idah, verset 43

وَكَيۡفَ يُحَكِّمُونَكَ وَعِندَهُمُ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةُ فِيهَا حُكۡمُ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّوۡنَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَۚ وَمَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

Comment d’ailleurs peuvent-ils soumettre leur différend à ton jugement pour ensuite le récuser, alors qu’ils disposent de la Torah où se trouve la loi d’Allah ? Non, ces gens-là ne sont pas croyants.

But how is it that they come to you for judgement while they have the Torah, in which is the judgement of Allah? Then they turn away, [even] after that; but those are not [in fact] believers

• Noor International Center (fr): Et comment donc te prendraient-ils pour juge alors qu’ils ont la Torah où se trouve le Jugement d’Allah ? Puis, après cela, ils désavouent (ton jugement). Ceux-là ne sont donc pas des croyants.
• Hilali & Khan: But how do they come to you for decision while they have the Taurât (Torah), in which is the (plain) Decision of Allâh; yet even after that, they turn away. For they are not (really) believers.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): But how is it that they seek your judgment when they have the Torah which contains Allah’s judgment, and they still turn away? Such people are not believers.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 5:43

Le cas de ces gens est vraiment étonnant. En effet, ils mécroient en toi mais recourent à ton jugement par espoir qu’il soit conforme à leurs passions, alors qu’ils disposent de la Torah à laquelle ils prétendent croire et qui contient le jugement d’Allah. Ensuite, ils se détournent de ton jugement s’il n’est pas conforme à leurs passions. Ils rejettent ainsi à la fois l’enseignement de leur Livre et ton jugement. Ceci ne peut être le fait de véritables croyants puisqu’ils ne croient pas en toi, ni en ce que tu apportes.
