Coran 46:28 — sourate Al-Ahqaf, verset 28

فَلَوۡلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرۡبَانًا ءَالِهَةَۢۖ بَلۡ ضَلُّواْ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفۡكُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡتَرُونَ

Si seulement leurs habitants avaient pu être sauvés par les divinités qu’ils adoraient en dehors d’Allah en prétendant mensongèrement que ces dernières les rapprochaient du Seigneur ! Mais ces fausses divinités, qu’ils avaient eux-mêmes inventées, avaient disparu.

Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing

• Noor International Center (fr): Quant aux divinités qu’ils avaient prises et dont ils s’étaient rapprochés en dehors d’Allah, que n’étaient-elles pas venues à leur secours ! Mais elles les abandonnèrent, car ainsi fut leur imposture et ainsi fut ce qu’ils inventaient (comme fictions et mensonges).
• Hilali & Khan: Then why did those whom they had taken for âlihah (gods) besides Allâh, as a way of approach (to Allâh) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Why is it that they were not helped by those [idols] whom they took as gods besides Allah so that they might bring them closer to Him? Rather, they were lost from them. Such was [the outcome of] their falsehood and the lies they used to fabricate.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 46:28

Pourquoi les idoles, qu’ils ont adoptées en dehors d’Allah et à qui ils présentaient des sacrifices, ne les ont-elles pas secourus? Au contraire, elles ont plutôt disparu au moment où ils avaient le plus besoin d’elles. Voilà où les a menés de mentir et de prétendre que leurs idoles leur étaient bénéfiques et qu'elles intercèderaient en leur faveur auprès d’Allah.
