Coran 4:90 — sourate An-Nisa, verset 90

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌ أَوۡ جَآءُوكُمۡ حَصِرَتۡ صُدُورُهُمۡ أَن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ أَوۡ يُقَٰتِلُواْ قَوۡمَهُمۡۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَلَقَٰتَلُوكُمۡۚ فَإِنِ ٱعۡتَزَلُوكُمۡ فَلَمۡ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ وَأَلۡقَوۡاْ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبِيلٗا

Seuls seront épargnés ceux qui se joignent à un clan avec lequel vous avez vous-mêmes conclu un pacte de non-agression ou ceux qui se présentent à vous, le cœur serré à l’idée de devoir choisir entre vous combattre et combattre les leurs. Si Allah l’avait voulu, Il aurait pu les inciter à vous attaquer. Si donc ils se tiennent à l’écart et vous offrent la paix, renonçant à vous combattre, Allah ne vous donne plus aucune raison de les inquiéter.

Except for those who take refuge with a people between yourselves and whom is a treaty or those who come to you, their hearts strained at [the prospect of] fighting you or fighting their own people. And if Allah had willed, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they remove themselves from you and do not fight you and offer you peace, then Allah has not made for you a cause [for fighting] against them

• Noor International Center (fr): hormis ceux qui rejoignent un clan auquel vous lie un pacte, ou ceux qui viennent vers vous avec un serrement au cœur, ne sachant pas s’ils doivent vous combattre ou bien combattre les leurs. Mais si Allah l’avait voulu, Il les aurait mobilisés contre vous, et ces derniers vous auraient combattus. Alors, s’ils gardent leurs distances par rapport à vous, ne vous combattent pas et vous proposent la paix, Allah ne vous laisse aucun chemin pour (déclencher contre eux) les hostilités.
• Hilali & Khan: Except those who join a group, between you and whom there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with their breasts restraining from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. Had Allâh willed, indeed He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allâh has opened no way for you against them.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): except those who join a people with whom you have a treaty or those who come to you feeling discomfort to fight you or fight their own people. If Allah had willed, He would have empowered them to fight you. Therefore if they withdraw and refrain from fighting you and offer you peace, then Allah has not given you permission [to fight] against them.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 4:90

Font exception ceux d’entre eux qui arrivent parmi des gens avec lesquels vous avez conclu un pacte ferme de non-hostilité, ou ceux qui se rendent auprès de vous car ils ne désirent pas vous combattre ni combattre les leurs. Si Allah l’avait voulu, Il leur aurait accordé l’hégémonie et ils vous auraient alors combattus. Acceptez donc cette trêve que vous offre Allah et ne vous en prenez pas à eux en les tuant ou en les capturant. S’ils s’éloignent de vous, ne vous combattent pas, s’inclinent devant vous et vous proposent la paix, Allah ne vous autorise pas à les tuer ou à les capturer.
