Coran 4:141 — sourate An-Nisa, verset 141

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَرَبَّصُونَ بِكُمۡ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ فَتۡحٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمۡ نَكُن مَّعَكُمۡ وَإِن كَانَ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ نَصِيبٞ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمۡ نَسۡتَحۡوِذۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَنَمۡنَعۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ فَٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ وَلَن يَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا

Ces hypocrites attendent de connaître la tournure des événements. Si, par la grâce d’Allah, vous remportez un succès, ils vous disent : « N’étions-nous pas à vos côtés ? » Si, à l’inverse, l’affrontement tourne momentanément à l’avantage des mécréants, ils leur disent : « Ne vous avons-nous pas assistés secrètement et protégés des croyants ? » Allah jugera donc les uns et les autres le Jour de la résurrection. Jamais Allah ne placera les croyants sous la domination des mécréants.

Those who wait [and watch] you. Then if you gain a victory from Allah, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers have a success, they say [to them], "Did we not gain the advantage over you, but we protected you from the believers?" Allah will judge between [all of] you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]

• Noor International Center (fr): Ce sont eux qui guettent ce qui vous arrive. S’il vous vient une victoire par la grâce d’Allah, ils disent : « N’étions-nous pas avec vous ? » Et si ce sont les mécréants qui ont eu leur part (à la victoire), ils disent : « Ne vous avions-nous pas sous notre tutelle ? Ne vous avions-nous pas protégés contre les croyants ? » Allah jugera entre vous au Jour de la Résurrection. Et aux mécréants, Allah ne donnera jamais le moyen (de nuire) aux croyants.
• Hilali & Khan: Those (hypocrites) who wait and watch about you; if you gain a victory from Allâh, they say: "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain mastery over you and did we not protect you from the believers?" Allâh will judge between you (all) on the Day of Resurrection. And never will Allâh grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): [These hypocrites are] those who are waiting and watching to see what happens to you. If Allah grants you victory, they say, “Were we not with you?” But if the disbelievers have some partial [victory], they say, “Did we not take care of you and protect you from the believers?” But Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah will never give the disbelievers a way to [overcome] the believers.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 4:141

Ces gens attendent de voir comment la situation évoluera en ce qui vous concerne. Si Allah vous donne la victoire et vous accorde un butin, ils sont désireux d’obtenir eux aussi une part du butin et vous disent: N’étions-nous pas avec vous et n’avons-nous pas participé à votre effort? Si ce sont les mécréants les victorieux, ils leur disent: Ne nous sommes-nous pas occupés de vous et ne vous avons-nous entourés de sollicitude? Ne vous avons-nous pas secourus et protégés contre les croyants en vous aidant et en les démoralisant? Allah tranchera entre vous tous le Jour de la Résurrection. Il rétribuera les croyants en les faisant entrer au Paradis et rétribuera les hypocrites en les jetant dans la fosse la plus profonde de l’Enfer. Par Sa grâce, Allah ne laissera pas les mécréants dominer les musulmans. Il accordera au contraire un dénouement favorable aux croyants.
