Coran 31:21 — sourate Luqman, verset 21

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ بَلۡ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ يَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Exhortés à se conformer à ce qu’Allah a révélé, les mécréants répondent qu’ils préfèrent suivre les traditions que leurs ancêtres leur ont léguées. Et si c’était Satan, en réalité, qui les poussait ainsi vers le châtiment du Brasier ?

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze

Autres traductions 31:21

• Noor International Center (fr): Quand il leur est dit : « Suivez donc ce qu’Allah a fait descendre (en révélation) ! » ils répliquent : « Nous suivrons plutôt ce que nous avons trouvé chez nos ancêtres. » Et cela même si Satan les appelait au supplice de la Fournaise ?
• Hilali & Khan: And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allâh has sent down", they say: "Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)." (Would they do so) even if Shaitân (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire?
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down,” they say, “No, we follow what we found our forefathers doing.” Is that so, even if Satan is calling them to the punishment of the Blazing Fire?

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 31:21

Lorsqu’on dit à ces gens-là « Suivez ce qui a été révélé par Allah à Son Messager », ils répondent: Non, nous imiterons plutôt nos ancêtres qui adoraient nos divinités. Imiteront-ils leurs ancêtres même s’ils ont été invités par Satan au châtiment de la fournaise lorsqu’il les égara en leur suggérant d’adorer des idoles?
