Coran 2:86 — sourate Al-Baqarah, verset 86

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ

Voilà ceux qui ont préféré cette vie à celle de l’au-delà. Leur châtiment ne saurait donc être allégé, et eux-mêmes ne pourront être sauvés.

Those are the ones who have bought the life of this world [in exchange] for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be aided

• Noor International Center (fr): Ce sont bien eux qui ont acheté la vie ici-bas au prix de la vie dans l’au-delà. Leur supplice ne sera point atténué et ils n’auront aucun secours.
• Hilali & Khan: Those are they who have bought the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter. Their torment shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): These are the people who have purchased the life of this world for the Hereafter; their punishment will not be lightened, nor will they be helped.

Ceux-ci ont privilégié la vie ici-bas au détriment de l’au-delà, préférant ce qui est éphémère à ce qui est éternel. Leur châtiment ne leur sera pas allégé dans l’au-delà et ils ne bénéficieront d’aucun secours.
