Coran 17:85 — sourate Al-Isra, verset 85

وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلرُّوحِۖ قُلِ ٱلرُّوحُ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّي وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

Ils t’interrogent au sujet de la nature de l’esprit. Réponds-leur : « Seul mon Seigneur en a connaissance. Vous n’avez, quant à vous, reçu qu’une part infime de science. »

And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little

• Noor International Center (fr): Ils t’interrogent à propos de l’âme. Dis : « L’âme est du ressort de mon Seigneur, et il ne vous a été donné que très peu de science. »
• Hilali & Khan: And they ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) concerning the Rûh (the Spirit); Say: "The Rûh (the Spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): They ask you [O Prophet] about the spirit. Say, “The spirit is of the affair of my Lord, and you have not been given knowledge except a little.”

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 17:85

Ô Messager, les mécréants des Gens du Livre te questionnent au sujet de l’esprit (`ar-rûħu). Dis-leur: Personne n’en connaît la véritable nature hormis Allah. Vous et le reste des créatures n’avez reçu que très peu de connaissances en comparaison avec les connaissances d’Allah.
