Coran 16:61 — sourate An-Nahl, verset 61

وَلَوۡ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِظُلۡمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيۡهَا مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ سَاعَةٗ وَلَا يَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَ

Si Allah devait punir dès à présent les hommes pour leur iniquité, Il ne laisserait aucun être vivant à la surface de la terre. Mais Il leur accorde un sursis jusqu’à un terme déjà fixé qu’ils ne sauraient, lorsque l’heure arrive, ni reculer un seul instant, ni avancer.

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]

Autres traductions 16:61

• Noor International Center (fr): Si Allah voulait vraiment s’en prendre aux hommes pour leur injustice, Il ne laisserait pas (sur terre) une seule créature vivante. Mais Il diffère (leur châtiment) à un terme déjà nommé, et quand leur terme sera venu, ils ne pourront ni le retarder d’une heure ni l’avancer d’autant.
• Hilali & Khan: And if Allâh were to seize mankind for their wrong-doing, He would not leave on it (the earth) a single moving (living) creature, but He postpones them for an appointed term and when their term comes, neither can they delay nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): If Allah were to take people to task for their wrongdoing, He would not leave a single living being on earth, but He gives them respite for an appointed time. When their time comes, they cannot delay it for a moment nor can they bring it forward.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 16:61

Si Allah punissait les gens pour leur injustice et leur mécréance, Il ne laisserait sur Terre aucun être humain ni aucun animal se déplacer à sa surface. Allah leur accorde plutôt un répit déterminé par Sa connaissance et lorsque le terme de ce répit échoit, leur punition ne sera ni reportée ni avancée, pas même d’une durée infime.
