Coran 11:5 — sourate Hud, verset 5

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ يَثۡنُونَ صُدُورَهُمۡ لِيَسۡتَخۡفُواْ مِنۡهُۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسۡتَغۡشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Ils croient pouvoir Lui dissimuler les secrets de leurs cœurs. Or, Il sait parfaitement, au moment même où ils se couvrent de leurs vêtements, ce qu’ils dissimulent et ce qu’ils laissent paraître, Lui qui connaît si bien le fond de leurs pensées.

Unquestionably, they the disbelievers turn away their breasts to hide themselves from Him. Unquestionably, [even] when they cover themselves in their clothing, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts

• Noor International Center (fr): Voilà qu’ils plient leurs poitrines pour se cacher de Lui. (Ils doivent savoir que) quand bien même ils se couvriraient de leurs vêtements, Il saurait ce qu’ils recèlent et ce qu’ils révèlent. Car Il Sait Parfaitement ce qu’il y a au fond des cœurs.
• Hilali & Khan: No doubt! They did fold up their breasts, that they may hide from Him. Surely, even when they cover themselves with their garments, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Verily, He is the All-Knower of the (innermost secrets) of the breasts.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Indeed, they lean forward to conceal their feelings from Him, but even when they cover themselves with their clothes, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal, for He is All-Knowing of what is in the hearts.

Tafsir (explication) de ce verset 11:5

L’ignorance qu’ont les polythéistes à l’égard d’Allah, les amène à replier leurs poitrines afin de dissimuler le doute qui y habite. Même s’ils se couvraient de la tête aux pieds avec leurs habits, Allah sait ce qu’ils camouflent et ce qu’ils laissent paraître. Il sait en effet ce que recèlent les poitrines.
