Koran 9:109 — Sure At-Tawbah, Vers 109

أَفَمَنۡ أَسَّسَ بُنۡيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ تَقۡوَىٰ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنٍ خَيۡرٌ أَم مَّنۡ أَسَّسَ بُنۡيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٖ فَٱنۡهَارَ بِهِۦ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Ist derjenige, der seinen Bau auf Furcht vor Allah und (Sein) Wohlgefallen gegründet hat, besser oder der, der seinen Bau auf den Rand eines abstürzenden Hanges gegründet hat, so daß er mit ihm ins Feuer der Hölle abstürzt? Und Allah leitet das ungerechte Volk nicht recht.

Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Ist denn derjenige, der seinen Bau auf Furcht vor Allah und (Sein) Wohlgefallen gegründet hat, besser oder der, der seinen Bau auf den Rand eines abstürzenden Hanges gegründet hat, so dass er mit ihm ins Feuer der Hölle abstürzt? Und Allah leitet das ungerechte Volk nicht recht.
• Hilali & Khan: Is it then he who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allâh and His Good Pleasure better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on the brink of an undetermined precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allâh guides not the people who are the Zâlimûn (cruel, violent, proud, polytheist and wrong-doer).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Who is better – one who laid the foundation of his building on piety and seeking Allah’s pleasure; or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a crumbling precipice, so it tumbled down with him into the Fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
