Koran 7:96 — Sure Al-A'raf, Vers 96

وَلَوۡ أَنَّ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ لَفَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَرَكَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُواْ فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ

Hätten aber die Bewohner der Städte geglaubt und wären sie gottesfürchtig gewesen, hätten Wir ihnen bestimmt Segnungen von dem Himmel und der Erde aufgetan. Aber sie erklärten (die Botschaft) für Lüge, und so ergriffen Wir sie für das, was sie erworben hatten.

And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Hätten aber die Bewohner der Ortschaften geglaubt und hätten sie (Allah) gefürchtet, hätten Wir ihnen bestimmt Segen von dem Himmel und der Erde aufgetan. Aber sie erklärten (die Botschaft) für Lüge, und so ergriffen Wir sie für das, was sie erworben hatten.
• Hilali & Khan: And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwâ (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): If only the people of the towns had believed and feared Allah, We would have certainly opened for them blessings from the heaven and earth. But they disbelieved, so We seized them for what they earned.
