Koran 7:168 — Sure Al-A'raf, Vers 168

وَقَطَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُمَمٗاۖ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنۡهُمۡ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَبَلَوۡنَٰهُم بِٱلۡحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

Und Wir zerteilten sie auf der Erde in Gemeinschaften. Unter ihnen gab es Rechtschaffene und solche, die dies nicht waren. Und Wir prüften sie mit Gutem und Bösem, auf daß sie umkehren mögen.

And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience]

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Und Wir trennten sie auf der Erde in Gemeinschaften auf. Unter ihnen gab es Rechtschaffene und solche, die dies nicht waren. Und Wir prüften sie mit Gutem und Schlechtem, auf dass sie umkehren mögen.
• Hilali & Khan: And We have broken them (i.e. the Jews) up into various separate groups on the earth: some of them are righteous and some are away from that. And We tried them with good (blessings) and evil (calamities) in order that they might turn (to Allâh’s Obedience).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): We scattered them through the land in communities – some of them were righteous and others were less so. We tested them with both prosperity and adversity, so that they would return [to Allah’s obedience].
