Koran 5:82 — Sure Al-Ma'idah, Vers 82

۞لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۖ وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقۡرَبَهُم مَّوَدَّةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهۡبَانٗا وَأَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

Du wirst ganz gewiß finden, daß diejenigen Menschen, die den Gläubigen am heftigsten Feindschaft zeigen, die Juden und diejenigen sind, die (Allah etwas) beigesellen. Und du wirst ganz gewiß finden, daß diejenigen, die den Gläubigen in Freundschaft am nächsten stehen, die sind, die sagen: Wir sind Christen. Dies, weil es unter ihnen Priester und Mönche gibt und weil sie sich nicht hochmütig verhalten.

You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Du wirst ganz gewiss vorfinden, dass diejenigen Menschen, die am feindseligsten gegenüber den Gläubigen sind, die Juden und diejenigen sind, die (Allah etwas) beigesellen. Und du wirst ganz gewiss finden, dass diejenigen, die den Gläubigen in Freundschaft am nächsten stehen, diejenigen sind, die sagen: „Wir sind Christen.“ Dies, weil es unter ihnen Priester und Mönche gibt und weil sie sich nicht hochmütig verhalten.
• Hilali & Khan: Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikûn and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): You will surely find that the most hostile people towards the believers are the Jews and those who associate partners with Allah, and you will surely find that the closest of them in affection to the believers are those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not arrogant.
