Koran 49:12 — Sure Al-Hujurat, Vers 12

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱجۡتَنِبُواْ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعۡضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثۡمٞۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُواْ وَلَا يَغۡتَب بَّعۡضُكُم بَعۡضًاۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمۡ أَن يَأۡكُلَ لَحۡمَ أَخِيهِ مَيۡتٗا فَكَرِهۡتُمُوهُۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٞ رَّحِيمٞ

O die ihr glaubt, meidet viel von den Mutmaßungen; gewiß, manche Mutmaßung ist Sünde. Und sucht nicht (andere) auszukundschaften und führt nicht üble Nachrede übereinander. Möchte denn einer von euch gern das Fleisch seines Bruders, wenn er tot sei, essen? Es wäre euch doch zuwider. Fürchtet Allah. Gewiß, Allah ist Reue-Annehmend und Barmherzig.

O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful

Und sucht nicht (andere) auszukundschaften und führt nicht üble Nachrede übereinander. Möchte denn einer von euch gern das Fleisch seines Bruders, wenn er tot sei, essen? So wäre euch dies ja zuwider. Und fürchtet Allah. Wahrlich, Allah ist Reue annehmend und barmherzig.
• Hilali & Khan: O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): O you who believe, avoid much of the suspicion, for some suspicions are sin. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would surely abhor it. So fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Accepting of Repentance, Most Merciful.
