Koran 4:83 — Sure An-Nisa, Vers 83

وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمۡ أَمۡرٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡنِ أَوِ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ أَذَاعُواْ بِهِۦۖ وَلَوۡ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُوْلِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنۡهُمۡ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعۡتُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

Und wenn ihnen eine Angelegenheit zu (Ohren) kommt, die Sicherheit oder Furcht betrifft, machen sie es bekannt. Wenn sie es jedoch vor den Gesandten und den Befehlshabern unter ihnen brächten, würden es wahrlich diejenigen unter ihnen wissen, die es herausfinden können. Und wenn nicht Allahs Huld und Erbarmen gewesen wären, wäret ihr fürwahr außer wenigen dem Satan gefolgt.

And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Und wenn ihnen eine Angelegenheit zu (Ohren) kommt, die Sicherheit oder Furcht betrifft, geben sie es bekannt. Wenn sie es jedoch vor den Gesandten und die Befehlshaber unter ihnen brächten, würden es gewiss diejenigen unter ihnen wissen, die es (von ihnen) herausfinden (und erschließen) können. Und wenn nicht die Huld Allahs über euch und Seine Barmherzigkeit gewesen wären, wäret ihr sicherlich bis auf wenige dem Satan gefolgt.
• Hilali & Khan: When there comes to them some matter touching (public) safety or fear, they make it known (among the people); if only they had referred it to the Messenger or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have understood it from them (directly). Had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of Allâh upon you, you would have followed Shaitân (Satan), save a few of you.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Whenever they hear any news of security or fear, they spread it. If they referred it to the Messenger or to those in authority among them, those with sound judgment among them could know it. Were it not for Allah’s grace and mercy, you would all have followed Satan, except for a few.
