Koran 28:78 — Sure Al-Qasas, Vers 78

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عِندِيٓۚ أَوَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَهۡلَكَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ مَنۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُ قُوَّةٗ وَأَكۡثَرُ جَمۡعٗاۚ وَلَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

Er sagte: „Es ist mir nur gegeben worden aufgrund von Wissen, das ich besitze. Wußte er denn nicht, daß Allah bereits vor ihm solche Geschlechter vernichtet hatte, die eine stärkere Kraft als er besaßen und eine größere Ansammlung (an Helfern) hatten? Und die Übeltäter werden nicht nach ihren Sünden befragt.

He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Er sagte: „Es ist mir nur gegeben worden aufgrund von Wissen, das ich besitze.“ Wusste er denn nicht, dass Allah bereits vor ihm solche Gemeinschaften vernichtet hatte, die eine stärkere Kraft als er besaßen und eine größere Ansammlung (an Besitz) hatten? Und die Übeltäter werden nicht nach ihren Sünden befragt.
• Hilali & Khan: He said: "This has been given to me only because of the knowledge I possess." Did he not know that Allâh had destroyed before him generations, men who were stronger than him in might and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected? But the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) will not be questioned of their sins (because Allâh knows them well, so they will be punished without being called to account).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): He said, “I have been given all this because of the knowledge that I have.” Did he not know that Allah destroyed some generations before him who were superior to him in power and greater in accumulating [wealth]? There will be no need for the wicked to be asked about their sins.
