Koran 2:59 — Sure Al-Baqarah, Vers 59

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ قَوۡلًا غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمۡ فَأَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رِجۡزٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡسُقُونَ

Doch da tauschten diejenigen, die Unrecht taten, das Wort gegen ein anderes aus, das ihnen nicht gesagt worden war. Und da sandten Wir auf diejenigen, die Unrecht taten, eine unheilvolle Strafe vom Himmel hinab dafür, daß sie gefrevelt hatten.

But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Doch da tauschten diejenigen, die Unrecht taten, das Wort gegen ein anderes aus, das ihnen nicht gesagt worden war. Da sandten Wir auf diejenigen, die Unrecht taten, eine Strafe vom Himmel hinab dafür, dass sie zu freveln pflegten.
• Hilali & Khan: But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another, so We sent upon the wrong-doers Rijz (a punishment) from the heaven because of their rebelling against Allâh’s obedience. (Tafsir At-Tabarî).
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): But the wrongdoers changed the words to other than what they were told; so We sent down upon the wrongdoers a torment from the heaven for their rebelliousness.
