Koran 2:243 — Sure Al-Baqarah, Vers 243

۞أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمۡ وَهُمۡ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مُوتُواْ ثُمَّ أَحۡيَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَذُو فَضۡلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشۡكُرُونَ

Siehst du nicht jene, die, um dem Tod zu entfliehen, zu Tausenden aus ihren Wohnstätten hinauszogen? Da sagte Allah zu ihnen: „Sterbt! Hierauf machte Er sie wieder lebendig. Allah ist wahrlich voll Huld gegen die Menschen. Aber die meisten Menschen sind nicht dankbar.

Have you not considered those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death? Allah said to them, "Die"; then He restored them to life. And Allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of the people do not show gratitude

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Hast du nicht jene gesehen, die zu Tausenden aus ihren Wohnstätten auszogen, (und dies,) um dem Tod zu entfliehen? Da sagte Allah zu ihnen: „Sterbt!“ Hierauf machte Er sie wieder lebendig. Wahrlich, Allah ist voll Huld gegen die Menschen. Aber die meisten Menschen danken nicht.
• Hilali & Khan: Did you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) not think of those who went forth from their homes in thousands, fearing death? Allâh said to them, "Die". And then He restored them to life. Truly, Allâh is full of bounty to mankind, but most men thank not.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): Have you not seen those who left their homes, while they were in thousands for fear of death? Then Allah said to them, “Die,” and then He brought them back to life. For Allah is ever Gracious to people, but most people are ungrateful.
