Koran 2:165 — Sure Al-Baqarah, Vers 165

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادٗا يُحِبُّونَهُمۡ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبّٗا لِّلَّهِۗ وَلَوۡ يَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ إِذۡ يَرَوۡنَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ أَنَّ ٱلۡقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ

Und doch gibt es unter den Menschen manche, die außer Allah andere als Seinesgleichen annehmen und ihnen die selbe Liebe schenken wie Allah. Aber die Gläubigen sind stärker in ihrer Liebe zu Allah. Und wenn doch diejenigen, die Unrecht tun, wenn sie der Strafe angesichtig werden, erkennen würden, daß alle Stärke Allah gehört und daß Allah streng im Strafen ist.

And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment

Doch diejenigen, die glauben, lieben Allah noch mehr. Und wenn nur diejenigen, die Unrecht tun, wenn sie der Strafe angesichtig werden, erkennen würden, dass alle Kraft Allah gehört und dass Allah streng im Strafen ist.
• Hilali & Khan: And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allâh as rivals (to Allâh). They love them as they love Allâh. But those who believe, love Allâh more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allâh and that Allâh is Severe in punishment.
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): And among people, there are some who take others as equals to Allah: they love them as they should love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in their love for Allah. If only the wrongdoers could see the punishment, they would surely realize that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment.
