Koran 12:77 — Sure Yusuf, Vers 77

۞قَالُوٓاْ إِن يَسۡرِقۡ فَقَدۡ سَرَقَ أَخٞ لَّهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُۚ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفۡسِهِۦ وَلَمۡ يُبۡدِهَا لَهُمۡۚ قَالَ أَنتُمۡ شَرّٞ مَّكَانٗاۖ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ

Sie sagten: Wenn er stiehlt, so hat ein Bruder von ihm schon zuvor gestohlen. Aber Yusuf hielt es in seinem Innersten geheim und legte es ihnen nicht offen. Er sagte: Ihr befindet euch in einer (noch) schlechteren Lage. Und Allah weiß sehr wohl, was ihr beschreibt.

They said, "If he steals - a brother of his has stolen before." But Joseph kept it within himself and did not reveal it to them. He said, "You are worse in position, and Allah is most knowing of what you describe

• Rowwad Translation Center (de): Sie sagten: „Wenn er gestohlen haben sollte, so hat ja ein Bruder von ihm zuvor (auch) gestohlen.“ Yusuf hielt es in seinem Inneren geheim und zeigte es ihnen nicht offen. Er sagte (im Inneren zu ihnen): „Ihr befindet euch in einer (noch) schlechteren Lage. Und Allah weiß besser (Bescheid), was ihr beschreibt.“
• Hilali & Khan: They [(Yûsuf’s (Joseph) brothers] said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his [Yûsuf (Joseph)] who did steal before (him)." But these things did Yûsuf (Joseph) keep in himself, revealing not the secrets to them. He said (within himself): "You are in worst case, and Allâh is the Best Knower of that which you describe!"
• Rowwad Translation Center (en): They said, “If he steals, then it was his brother [Joseph] who stole before.” Joseph kept it to himself and did not reveal it to them, and said [in his heart], “You are in a far worse position; and Allah knows best the truth of what you say.”
